Description: Kewpie dolls, first manufactured in 1912, were modeled after comic strip characters drawn by Rose O'Neil starting in 1909. The cartoon characters were baby "Cupid" figures, and the word "Kewpie" is a variation of "Cupid." These delightful two sided Kewpie “paper” Cardboard Dolls were designed by Rose O'Neill and are circa 1932.One is referred to as a “Hugsome” kewpie and is a single piece. The other one is nude but has what seems to be sailor clothing.Approximately 8-3/4" tall.A must-have for collectors of vintage paper dolls and paper crafts enthusiasts. Very Good Condition. Minor wear consistent with age. Light soiling and old age toning. Please view all the photos as the are intended to be part of the description and ask any questions you may have prior to bidding.
