Description: This gorgeous vintage oval Bakelite brooch measures 2 3/8" x 1 5/8" and weighs 19 grams. The brooch has three sections that have been laminated together to create this fabulous Art Deco Era brooch. The two outside panels are a marbled butterscotch and the center section is a clear applejuice color. The center panel has been decorated with three reverse carved flower decorations. The flower carvings are very detailed and were expertly executed. The flowers have been painted by hand and remain in near perfect condition with no chipping or flaking of the paint. The flowers were painted either a blue or purple color and the leaves were painted green. The brooch has its original rollover "c" type clasp that works like new and stays closed when the brooch is being worn. No chips, cracks or other occlusions were seen and the brooch tests positive for Bakelite using Simichrome polish.
