Vintage Lorenz Edox Hydro-Sub 10 ATM Skin Diver w/Signed Crown,ETA 2783 Mvmt

Description: This seldom seen vintage 1970's Lorenz Edox has a black and silver "T SWISS MADE T" signed dial with red accents that shows wear and the lume emits a faint, short-lived glow after being exposed to bright light. In my humble opinion the dial presents markedly better in person. The bezel, which shows wear and rotates smoothly bidirectionally, presents nicely. The heavy duty all stainless steel case shows honest wear with insignificant signs of oxidation. The outer edge of the case back is stamped "WATERRESISTANT SHOCKRESISTANT AUTOMATIC 21 JEWELS STAINLESS STEEL SKIN DIVER 10 ATMOSPHERES" with the Edox symbol followed by "27684-6" stamped in the center. The crystal shows scratching and dust/debris on its underbelly. The 21 jewels Swiss ETA 2783 automatic movement with quickset date function is clean, keeps accurate time and the date wheel rolls over at approximately 11:57 pm. The quickset date function works flawlessly by pulling the crown out to the first position and then turning it clockwise until the desired date has been reached. After recently winding the non-screwdown crown 39 full revolutions the movement had a healthy power reserve of approximately 43 hours. The crown winds a bit stiffly. Given that this watch is more than 50 years old and considering the movement's unknown service history (there are no visible watchmaker service markings on the inside of the case back or on the movement) a complete overhaul is likely long overdue and recommended. This watch measures approximately 36 mm excluding the crown, approximately 39.5 mm including the crown and approximately 19.5 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 8.5 mm. Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 11 mm. Given the vintage nature of this watch and considering the movement's unknown service history a complete overhaul is recommended.
