Description: Extremely rare and possibly unique Louisiana State Police medal.. I have owned this medal for three years I have attempted to research and find photos or others for sale.. not one time have I turned up pictures or for sale listings of this medal! This medal would have been awarded only for acts of extreme Valor and lifesaving or rescue operations! I believe this to be an earlier medal I'm assuming 1960s or 70s probably the 1st Pattern of this award... it is extremely high quality it is solid bronze and has very high quality enameling... all these signs point it to being an earlier piece! The front exhibits the Louisiana State Police crest / on the back it is " awarded to " " for saving of a human life " -- the medal is not engraved or attributed. The top bar is marked Graco GI possibly the maker but also possibly the maker of the mounting device so hard to say if this piece is Graco ,to me it doesn't look like their signature designs and is much higher quality then you see out of them usually.. I really had no idea how to price this as it seems to be the only example on the market in the past 10 years or more and I have no way to price it off that! This pattern is obsolete as you can see the new pattern online when Google searching! Condition is very good no issues to note!
