Description: Vintage Madonna of the Chair Firenze Porcelain Plaque of Madonna Della Sedia. ~ This is a hand painted copy of MADONNA DELLA SEGGIOLA (Madonna of the Chair) by Raphael, c. 1514~ The Italian porcelain circular plaque is finely painted with the Madonna and Child Jesus with John the Baptist holding a cross~ It has an elaborately carved gilt frame~ The symbol on the backside is the Giglio or Lily of Florence~ The symbol denotes that the piece was from the Uffizi Palace, or Florence Museum******~ This piece is numbered~ It is in excellent condition for its age, some wear on the frame only~ Handle with care.. only has 2 nails holding it in place Measures:Frame: 9" in diameterPicture: 4-1/2" in diameter ******This is from the "I Antique Online" for a piece that is the same as this oneThe symbol on the backside is the Giglio or Lily of Florence and is the city’s official seal. It also denotes that the piece was purchased at the Uffizi Palace which is now known as the Florence Museum. The Museum commissions artists to recreate works of art.
