Description: This is a highly collectible hand thrown pottery bowl piece created by the famed Pigeon Forge Pottery company out of Tennesee. This company was owned by Douglas Ferguson and this bowl was made by another famous craftsman in his studio by the name of Ellis Ownby. This bowl is signed by him on the bottom. This is a design that was inspired by the simplistic nature of Danish - Nordic style pottery. It is eggshell in color with the natural speckling in the finish from the clay firing process. This bowl has a ruffled rim edge and a semi glazed finish. ** As an example, I have taken a picture of this bowl beside another piece of vintage American pottery (very last photo), this piece of pottery was also inspired by the simplistic Nordic design. Bowl is in excellent condition. Only flaws are slight flaws made by the manufacturing process. There is a tiny black spot on one edge which appears to be fired into the clay. There are no chips or cracks. It has no stains and is clean. No odors. Comes from a smoke free home. It measures roughly 5 inches in diameter and 1 1/4 inches in height. Please ask any questions. Thank you
