Description: Vintage MCM Siberian Yupik Inuit Ceramic Penguin or Russian Soldier Vase This vintage, Mid-Century Modern black penguin or Russian soldier ceramic vase has an interesting story that may or may not be true: that it was created by the Siberian Inuit Yupik artists to represent the Russian military men that came up north, in that they had big mouths and empty heads. I kind of like that story, or it could be a penguin. Either way, it’s a great piece of vintage pottery, which weighs 6.2 ounces, is 6 ½” tall, 3” wide, and has a 1 3/8” diameter at the top of the head and a 1 ½” base. I’ve also included a photo of the label, which is a bit washed out, but you can still see the Russian characters. This unique piece is in beautiful vintage condition, with a few age-appropriate flea-bites here and there. Please make sure to examine all photos carefully, remembering to zoom in for details, and don't hesitate to contact me for additional photos and/or information. I pack all my items with great care, as I want these treasures to reach you safely. Thanks so much for taking a look, and if you feel like it, please check out my other items for sale.
