Description: The indigenous Otomi people have over the years adapted their traditional designs and motifs to make fun and beautiful works of art. Embroidered multi coloured whimsical animals alternate with flowers and plants on a plain cotton background. This wonderfully decorative textile could be used as a tablecloth but would be lovely framed or wall hung. Its not quite round, more of an oval - approximately 65" x just over 58" (148 x 165cm)Vintage item, exact age unknown - authentic Otomi embroidery likely from Hidalgo state.
