Description: The indigenous Otomi people have over the years adapted their traditional designs and motifs to make fun and beautiful works of art. A wonderful, multi coloured textile packed with embroidered whimsical animals, flowers and plants round a central star on a plain Calico type cotton background. Unusually, there are two masked dancers in fancy costumes here too. This decorative textile could be used as a small tablecloth but would be lovely framed or wall hung. Approximately just under 29" x just over 33" (73 x 85 cm) Vintage item, exact age unknown - authentic Otomi embroidery likely from Hidalgo state. Excellent vintage condition - very clean, odour free, just the the odd loose thread. Please look at the photos carefully.
