Description: For your consideration is this adorable mid-century Basset Hound Puppy figurine with amber rhinestone (sparkle) eyes made by Roselane Pottery of California. The 1/4-inch diameter eyes are large in this sweet dog's face. In the stylized bisque matte glaze, the beige and pink coat blends to deeper browns at the droopy ears, around the eyes and muzzle, the paws, and his over sized tail. This sitting dog measures 1 1/2 inches tall and 2 inches wide. The bottom is marked with “U.S.A." and C in circle (copyright) which indicates this figurine was made during the middle period of Roselane's existence during the 1950s. There are no chips or cracks but there are a few surface scuffs and he may need alittle cleaning. On a personal note, I bought this figurine from the Camp Curry general store in Yosemite National park in the late 1950's and he has been lovingly displayed in my non-smoking home for over 65 years. Now headed to a retirement home, I'm hoping he finds a new home for this adorable mid century puppy.
