These sweet Milly's Miniature Dolls were hand-made by Mildred Davis of Greenfield, Indiana - the birthplace of Indiana's beloved poet, James Whitcomb Riley. These little treasures are very hard to find and very desirable to doll collectors. The little minis come on a cardboard base with typed "Milly's Miniatures From the Birthplace of James Whitcomb Riley" and a penned written description of the doll. Examples are "The Raggedy Man", "Mary Had a Little Lamb", "An Impetuous Resolve", "Granny" and others. The dolls are all cloth, with embroidered faces and are 3" to 4" tall and have wonderful detailing. If you are lucky enough to find them is their original box, the boxes came in two sizes and are basically jewelry boxes with a little paper insert glued to the side that reads "This is a Milly's Miniature handmade by the originator, Mildred Davis, Greenfield, Indiana - the birthplace of Indiana's beloved poet, James Whitcomb Riley".
