Description: Up for your consideration is a stunning Navajo Chiefs blanket from the 1800’s. This was picked up by my Grandfather somewhere in his many travels. He was a British Military Officer during World War II and later a Diplomat. This blanket has been displayed in my fishing cottage for many years. Its displays beautifully. It measures 62 inches long by 28 inches wide. It dates to around the 1860’s. This vintage Navajo Chief Chiefs Saddle Blanket Rug is a true piece of history. With a provenance that can be traced back to the 1800s, this rug is a classic example of 2nd phase Navajo art. Handmade by Native American artisans, this rug features a regional design that is distinctively Navajo. The rug's attributes include a United States origin, tribal affiliation with the Navajo people, and a culture that is distinctively Native American. The artist behind this rug is lost to time, adding an air of mystery to this piece. This rug is a must-have for collectors of Native American art and is perfect for adding a touch of history to any room. The rug has some staining with age. I prefer to sell it in the original condition. It is a horse blanket by its very nature. You can clean it as the new owner. From my personal collection. Selling to downsize a bit. New items listed every week. Please see and save my eBay store. Many repeat customers. You never know what will be for sale.
