German Silver- Mesh Purses with the frames in an Art Nouveau style and stamped for authenticity. The Silver is a base metal alloy consisting of: · Nickel· Copper· Zinc There is NO SILVER content in it what so ever. The metal is silvery in color and polishes to a shine. Mimicking Sterling Silver….thus the name German Silver. All of the mesh appears to be in extra fine condition on the two solid silver bags. There are no holes or detached links that I have found. The mesh is secure at the hinges all about the frame and drapes with a pleated form. The multicolor bag looks as if there was repair work done towards the bottom of mesh, which still does not take away from the bag itself and would still look great on display. These bags are in great condition considering they are from the nineteen hundreds. A fabulous array any fashionista would welcome having the history of couture to their collection.
