Vintage Original Photos of 1940s Hollywood's Golden Age Movie Stars (Collection)

Description: My grandmother and mother collected film star photos and autographs from their respective eras. I have silent movie star photos left from my grandmother, and film stars from the 1940s and 1950s left from my mom. My mom kept her collection in a scrapbook (and then removed them); and also numbered her photos in the order received. I try to note all signs of pasting, numbers, pinholes, etc. in the description. (The red ebay sign will not be imprinted on the photo; it is a security mark to prevent copying.) Please note the condition of the varying cards and photos by my descriptions and by viewing them closely. The following postcard photos and fan photos are included in the set and the conditions of the cards are as follows: AUTOGRAPHED Ella Raines: this matte postcard is intact. On the front. Miss Raines is portrayed in a collared criss-crossed top, with coiffed hair, and is looking off into the distance. A 163 is listed in the top righthand corner of the card and a pinhole exists to the right of the center of the card. There is marring on Miss Raines' face of an unknown substance. I did not try to remove it. (See the forehead area and the right cheek, as looking at the photo.) THIS CARD IS AUTOGRAPHED. The signature is written in a dark pen. The reverse also displays some discoloration and/or spattering of an unknown substance. My mom's address as a teen appears, as well as the mailing date of Sept 18,1948. The card was mailed from Van Nuys, Calif. The reverse also advertises the movie "Walking Hills". Marsha Hunt: the matte photo measures 3.5" x 6.25". It is numbered with a 126 in the righthand top corner and a pinhole is centered in the top white border. This photo features Miss Hunt wearing a dark top with a scalloped neckline. Her hair is set and she is wearing earrings. A beautiful photo with a becoming play of shadows. The autograph is a facsimile, a common practice among stars at the time. The corners of the photo are strong. When held to the light, some pasting and ink residue are present on the photo front (though not in an obvious manner). The reverse of the photo displays signs of pasting. Bob Hutton: this postcard photo is a finished matte. It is numbered with a 62 in the righthand corner and has a pinhole centered at the top; this photo has no border. Mr. Hutton is featured wearing a suit and a diagonally striped tie. A handkerchief can be seen folded in his suit pocket. The facsimile signature is clearly presented. A jagged divot tear is noticed in the lower left corner (as facing the photo). Some very, very slight marring is on his hand/to the left of his hand. The reverse displays no signs of pasting. My mom's address as a teen appears, as well as the mailing date of Mar. 27,1947. The card was mailed from Burbank, Calif. Richard Crane: this glossy photo is marked as a WJGray (famed photographer) photo. The number in the top righthand corner is indecipherable. The corner displays a jagged tear; a pinhole exists just to the right of center in the top white border. The other corners are intact. When held to the light, visible residue (possibly paste) exists on the photo. Mr. Crane is presented in a tweed suit with a dark tie. The reverse shows signs of pasting. Tom Drake: this glossy postcard photo is numbered with a 44 in the top righthand corner and has a pinhole centered in the top white border. All corners are intact. A visible horizontal crease runs across the center of the photo (right below the ear level of Mr. Drake). Mr. Drake is featured with styled hair, a suit jacket and an opened checkered, collared shirt. A handkerchief can be seen in his suit pocket. The reverse side of this postcard displays signs of pasting. Walter Pidgeon: this glossy postcard photo is numbered as 49 in the top righthand corner. The corners are slightly worn. A pinhole appears just at the line between the top border and the beginning of the photo. Pasting residue is apparent in the area at the top of Mr. Pidgeon's hair, some discoloration appears in the bottom white border. Mr. Pidgeon is featured in a pinstriped suit, a patterned tie, and a white shirt. Some slight scratching is apparent on the photo front. The reverse side displays signs of pasting.
