Description: 35mm color slide from the 1960s features a street scene with a young woman crossing the street with a baby carriage. One point perspective, deep space with a very vertical, tall church and high spire in the background. Behind that is a mountain range in the distance. The church bell tower has a clock showing 6:40. Not sure of the location but there are some clues. At the corner cross walk is a stanchion with an ad for Old Gold Cigarettes (can't get my camera to focus sharply enough to show this detail but would be legible when projected). Along the sidewalk is what looks like a stairway descending down—perhaps a subway exit or other subterranean access. There's a triangular traffic sign facing the left lane of traffic with parking on the right. Also notice a 60s model Chevrolet parked on the street may indicate the vintage of this shot. The front auto looks like a Land Rover. The baby stroller design and dress of the woman is indicative of early to mid 60s by my eye. The slide is labeled "Duplicate, Colorfax Laboratories, Silver Spring, Md. 20915," probably part of an educational slide set. See many other new, vintage and antique items at my other listings.
