Description: This marvelous vintage Piel Craftsmen model of Newburyport, Mass is created as a replica of the Red Jacket clipper ship, designed by Samuel H. Pook. It was built by George Thomas at Rockland, Maine in 1853. The Red Jacket was a clipper ship, one of the largest and fastest ever built. She was also the first ship of the White Star Line company. She was named after Sagoyewatha, a famous Seneca Indian chief, called "Red Jacket" by settlers. Measurements for this fabulous creation are: Ship length=21 inches, Width=3-1/2 inches, Height=15 inches and it sits on a wooden base. This vintage replica model of the Red Jacket clipper ship has been well cared for, gently displayed and is in good condition. Although hull and stand are in excellent condition, the front rigging is in need of repair. Please review all photos for condition. This beautiful historic model is the perfect addition to your decor, particularly if you like historic ships.
