Description: Vintage Pigeon Forge Pottery Dogwood Mug Coffee Cup Boho Flower. Yellow Glaze inside. No chips or cracks, no signs of use. Heavy, almost one lbs. Pigeon Forge Pottery was founded in 1946, in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, by Douglas Ferguson. While working at the TVAs ceramics research lab, he met and later married Ruth Wilson, daughter of Ernest Wilson, a well known American potter. After being married for eleven years, they opened the Pigeon Forge Pottery. They produced a variety of pottery by hand and designed their own kilns and equipment. Pigeon Forge Pottery closed down in 2000, after Fergusons death.
