Description: Presented is an old, Portuguese silver serving spoon made during the mid 20th century. This is a heavy weight, solid silver piece. No weighting in the handle. Everything is solid silver. The thick handle has high relief flowers, leaves and scrolls along the top. There is an old, ornate monogram on the front of the handle, perhaps ML. The bottom portion with the bowl has a light gold wash. The back of the handle bears the Porto city mark for .833 purity silver as well as a maker's mark with the letter A.This piece is in excellent overall condition for its age and the designs are crisp. There is minor surface wear commensurate with age and light use. There are no damages and no repairs. There is wear to the high points on the gold wash, as you can see in the photographs.
