Description: A colorful Royal Cauldon plate with an image of a thatched roof boat house by the river Thames, a man in a boat and swans, with a bridge and forest at sunrise landscape. It has a very unique edge with high relief bubbles fanning out to a scalloped rim. It's in very nice condition without cracks, chips or utensil marks. It measures approximately 9 5/8" in diameter and 3/4" high. The manufacture of Earthenware and China at Cauldon Place in Hanley has a history possibly dating back to the 1850s. The Royal Caudon name was used from around 1930 and became part of the Wedgwood Group in the 1970's.
