VINTAGE: RUSSWIN # 11224 ENTRY LOCK w/CYLINDER & KEY 2 1/2 BS, 7 7/8 FACE: FULL SET WITH KNOBS & THUMB TURN KNOB (15833) Vintage: RUSSWIN circa 1920 - 1940 entry door entry mortise lock #11224. Comes with a vintage Russwin lock cylinder and one key. Also comes with a thumb turn lock, two knobs, two escutcheons and the knob connecting post, I.E. A FULL SET! Large and heavy steel faceplate with body of the lock clearly maker marked 'RUSSWIN', one of America's great manufacturers of builder's hardware during the second half of the 19th & early part of the 20th Century. Dimensions as follows: Heavy steel front plate measures 7 7/8" long, 1 1/16" wide, 1/8" thick. This mortise is very nice, working perfectly, all cleaned up. The box is 3 1/2" deep from the front edge of the faceplate and it is 5 1/2" top to bottom. Screws are on 6 3/4" centers. Backset (the distance from the front of the front plate to the center of the knob post hole) is 2 1/2". The knob post hole measures 5/16" each side of the post, so it accepts a normal set of knobs. From the outside, the key works the deadbolt while the knobs work the latch. For the inside, a thumb turn latch is included to lock or unlock the dead bolt while the knob operates the latch.
