Vintage Set of Yukon Placer Gold Nuggets Cuff Links

Description: You are invited to bid on a set of vintage cufflinks featuring Yukon gold placer nuggets. The nuggets have been KEE tested. These cufflinks nuggets both tested as 18K gold. The oval shaped cufflinks measure 1” by 3/4”. The nuggets measure 7 mm by 5 mm and 6 mm by 5 mm. I acquired these nd some other Yukon nugget items at an estate sale. I was told by the lady hosting the sale that her Grandfather had been in the Yukon area in the 1940's and brought these nugget items back with him. IMPORTANT: Only the nuggets are gold. I researched these pieces and found they might have been made at Dawson City in the Yukon Territory of Canada. Further research indicated these might have been made at a store called Murdoch’s, which is still open today. This store started business in the mid 1940’s and offered jewelry made from Yukon placer gold nuggets. I was able to contact the current manager of the store and sent him photos. He confirmed that back in the day, as he put it, Murdoch’s did indeed offer pieces like these. So I feel these probably were made at the Murdoch store in Dawson City sometime in the late 1940’s or the 1950’s.
