The photographs and/or scanned images used in my listing are highly magnified, this is useful for displaying an items detail but... it can also make items appear larger than they really are, so, I usually try to include at least one comparison photo with either a ruler or a common object/ coin shown next to the item, just to help give a realistic idea of actual size. Magnified images, also tend to show very small imperfections, scratches scuffs and nicks etc. most of which are not easily seen with the naked eye. Also scanned images do not show up lustre very well, so shiny stuff may look quite flat and dull, a plus point from this is that I’m very often told that my items look much better than the images showed.
