Description: Vintage Smithsonian Costume Jewelry Celtic Brooch Cloak Pin 1980s Signed Miracle This costume jewelry piece is Pre-Owned and in Excellent Used Condition. Minimal wear for age and usage. Pet-free, smoke-free home. Please see pictures closely as they are a part of the description. Sold As-Is. Made by Miracle in the eighties. Signature/Stamp on the reverse. About 2.5" in diameter. Quality glass stones, looks like banded Scottish Agate, Blue Turquoise, Green Malachite, Smokey Quartz, etc. Highly detailed metalwork. Filigreed edges. Working roll-over clasp. This vintage stain-glass piece gleams with jewel-colored glass set in a brass-tone pin. This brooch also comes with its original "Costume at the Smithsonian" paper cardstock bifold-insert which reads: "Jewelry from the 18th century to the present is found in the Smithsonian's Division of Costume. This intriguing collection documents the variety of jewelry worn in the United States. Jewelry of all qualities, from fanciful costume jewelry to high quality custom-made pieces, is represented in the National Museum of American History." There is another card included. The soft, felt-like side has "Celtic Jewelry" in an arty font on it. The paper side of the card reads: "It is in the Irish Isle and the Northern and Western rims of Britain that the heritage of the Celts has endured. These are the lands the Romans did not conquer or where they failed to implants their own culture. In the far West the Celtic culture continued to flourish. Their artistic ability and fine craftsmanship are shown in their Ornamental and Metal work.
