Description: Gorgeous mahogany storage/document/jewelry box from the 1950's. The box measures 11 3/4" long x 8 1/8" deep x 4" tall. Inside is 10 3/4" long x 6 7/8" deep x 3 1/2" tall. Assembled using 1/2" thick solid mahogany using a splined miter joint for strength. Refinished with several coats of Satin MinWax varnish and hand-polished with 0000 steel wool and paste-wax for a soft luster. Fully lined with new dark blue felt. 90º hinges. Bottom is covered with red felt and has rubber feet for ease of handling. No key for lock and locking pin on lid is missing. Shipping weight approximately 4 lbs.
