Description: Up for sale is this American Fork & Hoe 48 in. metal casting fishing rod. The rod is in overall very good condition. I cleaned the rod and handle thoroughly and applied Fluid Film to the metal. Fluid Film is a non-toxic rust & corrosion preventative. When the rod was made they put some kind of paint or other coating to prevent the rod from rusting. As you can see from the photos some of that gray and orange coating has chipped off. However, there is little to no rust. I also applied U-40 Cork Seal to both cork handle pieces. The butt cap is a little dented, otherwise, the cork is in very good condition. On the reel seat it reads “MDG. The American Fork & Hoe Co. Geneva, Ohio.” That is the only writing on the rod. There are 3 guides including the tip. The aluminum guides are all nice and tight. The windings are made of metal. The rod weighs 8.5 oz. Thanks for looking.
