Description: Vintage Triangular Turquoise Glazed Kutahya Ceramic Tile Second Half of the 20th Century, Kutahya, Türkiye. Size: The equilateral triangular tile has ~185mm (~7¼ in) sides. Thickness: ~ 5mm (~0.2 in) This tile is probably a “reject” from a group of tiles made for restoration purposes. Restoration projects of the Iznik tiles of many monuments in the Mid-20th Century necessitated the production of tiles of similar colors, shapes & sizes. Though never successfully matching the colors of the original turquoise Iznik tiles, similar tiles were produced in Kutahya at various ateliers.
