Description: Vintage Turkish Pasabahce Cesmi Bulbul Spiral Pattern 5" Bowl. Turkish Pasabahce Cesmi Bulbul Spiral Pattern signed Art Glass Bowl, measuring 5.5 cm tall X 13 cm at its widest diameter and is in excellent vintage condition. There is a fleabite to the inside of the ground rim shown in the last picture. This is only mentioned for accuracy and does not detract from this lovely bowl. Opaque twist glassware began to be produced by craftsmen in Beykoz during the reign of Sultan Selim III (1789-1807). Rods of colored crystal glass were incorporated into the crystal glass body and twisted to produce spiraling designs.These designs were likened to nightingales' eyes, and hence this ware became known as " Eye of the Nightingale& quot; in Turkish. Opaque twist glassware is produced by traditional methods by Pasabahce.
