Description: This is an unmarked No 8 skillet. It is a very nice quality skillet, but the manufacturer is unknow. The bottom of the skillet has the effects sulfur erosion and possibly removed any identifying marks. The interior cooking surface has been finely etched from corrosion and some light utensil swirl marks. The surface is still smooth to the touch. Six sheets of printer paper slipped under one edge on the bottom stops movement on a granite surface. No chips, cracks or repairs and does not spin. Test for flatness of skillet. With the skillet resting on a polished granite surface, press down all along the top rim searching for movement. If movement is found, slip pieces of printer paper under one edge of the until pot stops moving. This item was stripped down to bare metal using collector approved lye bath and electrolysis treatments. This process ensures the removal of all residue from previous use making it safe to use once more. The item is lightly seasoned with one round of Crisco at 450 for 1 hour. This item was photographed in very bright light to highlight fine details. Under these lighting conditions, items may take on a brown color. Items are much darker under normal light.
