Description: Vintage Volkstedt Woven Basket adorned with flowers. Vintage porcelain, woven design, handled basket decorated with green rose vines and pretty, leafy, deep pink roses and topped with a petite, pretty, sky blue ribbon bow. This delightful, delicate, hand painted porcelain vessel was made in Germany in the Volkstedt factories in the early-mid 1900s. It was exquisitely designed and executed by the famed Teuton artisans known for their work in porcelain, particularly in the last 350 years as various methods of crafting a variety of both soft and hard paste mediums emerged and evolved. The basket bears the distinctive Volkstedt mark on the bottom and is in fine, vintage, previously owned condition. As is common with these intricate pieces, the fine, thin points on these pieces are susceptible to chipping and breaking off, there are some points that have been chipped off. However, due to the design the damage is very inconspicuous, and tends to look like a natural petal but it is chipped nonetheless. Measuring 7.5”H x 11”W, this impressive treasure can be used as a centerpiece, planter, or simply displayed as a gorgeous decoration as the high quality craftsmanship is a joy to behold all by itself.
