Description: Vintage Whiting Davis 1940's Silver Tone Mesh Expandable Wristlet Dance Purse measuring approximately 6 inches from the cap opening to the bottom of the purse, with a chain drop of approximately 4 1/2 inches. The accordion mechanism works great and the top snaps on easily, with the chain intact and in very good condition. The silver on the lid and the accordion mechanism show some tarnish, while the mesh bag is in great condition, with the lining being detached in a couple of areas as shown in photo #10, easily reattached with thread if the new owner chooses to do so. A great piece of Whiting Davis history, and a great item for any collector of vintage and antique handbags. The inside of the lid is marked with a faint WD. My husbands father brought back many lovely pieces of jewelry, porcelain, clothing, perfumes, and household items to his new bride upon his return from Europe after WWII. Many of the items have gone to family, but there are still many items that need a home, and they are listed here. There are also other items, long held family treasures that also need to find new homes, as we have no room in ours for them.
