Description: Vintage Wood Firkin Sugar Bucket signed Jenkins Primative Farmhouse. Here is a Vintage to most likely Antique Wood Firkin Bucket Container. It is an early firkin with a steam bent wood handle and mushroom cap to secure. It has wood slats with wooden straps wrapped around with copper tacks or nails. It appears to have once had a varnish finish, which has fadded with age. It is in pretty good condition for its age with some minor fixes. At one point, it looks like someone added some nails to the bottom wrap around wood due to it separating, then 2 staples for added support. There is also some slight space between some of the slats. The back of the lid also looks like someone once used it to cut something like cheese. Overall, it is a beautiful decorative piece of history. Approximately 10" x 10". One of the most intriguing pieces is the name carved on the top of the lid, "B.R. Jenkins." There have been other ones with the same writing or signed "Batchelor & Jenkins." I cannot find much more information than that on the potential maker.
