That is to say that there is a variety of compartment sizes (as shown in the photos). This particular tray has had some repairs over the years. Notably, what would have been the base of the tray has had 2 pieces replaced with a lighter coloured wood. This repair has left a small hole between the old wood and new wood. Also, a couple of the compartments have worn away. These have been clearly captured in the images, so please look closely. Despite all of this, the tray is very solid and still makes a fantastic feature. Structurally, the tray is solid, just some cosmetic wear. Please note that this is a vintage piece, therefore wear and minor damage to the wood is to be expected (this is clearly shown in the photos).
