Description: This nutcracker is the old style of heavy wooden parts and no plastic accoutrements. From his hat tassel to his boots, the trim is faux fur, not painted on. He still has his original box and is pristine. He is a fine addition to any decor or collection. Oh, his bag is real burlap. The rest of the story: My mom (of Savannah, Georgia)was a friend of Johnny Mercer and he would come out to the house for supper on occasion. One Christmas, he gave this nutcracker to my mom, mostly for decoration. Later on in life I began collecting nutcrackers and ended up with 64 diferent ones. I am not too old and don't really have the space for them so I have sold most of them and only have a few left but (like any collector) I kept the best ones for last. This is a really old one, Mom got it back in the 60's. There is no telling how long Mercer had it. Anyway if you are a collector, this one has this provenance and I will include it with the nutcracker.
