Viridi Anne textured wool/alpaca blend jacket, size 2 (S)

Description: Up for sale here is a very unique jacket from the Viridi Anne label. Like a number of smaller Japanese labels out there, the Viridi Anne places their emphasis on producing very high quality clothing, often employing unique techniques, and always with a strong eye for tailoring and detail. They draw a lot of parallels to labels like Julius or Kazuyuki Kumagai, in that they tend toward a “darker” aesthetic, with a similarly high level of quality and inventiveness. This is another take on the classic blazer. Fabric is a 38% cotton, 31% wool, 31% alpaca blend and fully lined in a cotton/curpo blend in the body and 100% cupro in the sleeves. Fabric blend is on the heavier side of things, where this is a good fall-winter-spring jacket, easily layered under a coat in the coldest weather. Fabric is pretty unusual, where you don’t typically see alpaca incorporated into a blazer silhouette, and it gives the material quite a bit more texture. Silhouette is two button blazer, although there are all kinds of interesting details incorporated. The front buttons are slightly asymmetric, giving the front a bit of a slant. The button formation also allows you to wear the collar up or down, and you can use just the bottom button or both according to your preference. There are two horizontal side pockets, where the bottom of the pockets are partially floating (not attached to the rest of the jacket), but at the same time there is an additional layer of fabric keeping the pockets in place. There are also two semi-hidden zipped chest pockets for extra storage. Interior has two additional large pockets and the cuffs have working button holes. As usual with the Viridi Anne, all aspects of the design have been really well considered and the quality is some of the best out there. This is a more recent release from the Viridi Anne, produced as usual in very limited quantities and unfortunately very expensive at retail. Get it here much more reasonably. Size is labeled a 2 and fits a standard small. I measure the chest at 19”, shoulders at 17”, length at 28” and sleeves at 25.5” from the shoulder. The jacket comes in lightly used, excellent shape with no holes, tears, stains or visible wear. Made in Japan. Shipping from Japan to anywhere will be $30.
