The long-awaited revival of the golden record of the 90s by master Fedoseyev!A collection of Russian symphonies by Canyon Classics, all 5 albums have been newly mastered and made into a box.The latest reprint includes a new preface commentary by Kenjiro Sakairi, an up-and-coming conductor who studied under Fedoseev.Newly mastered by Tomoyoshi Ezaki for this reprint. Limited edition of 700 sets with serial number! This box is a collection of Shostakovich and Prokofiev symphonies by Fedoseyev, which Canyon Classics brought to Moscow in the 90's to hold an exhibition. Fedoseyev's Shostakovich is a performance that stands at the opposite end of the sophisticated Western European style. The intense passion that feels like it's going to tear your lungs out, and the intense energy that feels like a cry from deep within your heart, creates a powerful drama that brings out the composer's light and darkness from deep within. A new manuscript written by up-and-coming conductor Kenjiro Sakairi, one of the few Japanese who studied under Fedoseyev, a re-posting of the original track descriptions, new mastering in 2022 by Tomoyoshi Ezaki, green label specifications, etc. You can listen to the heroic performance of the great master Fedoseyev, who was at his peak, and who survived with great success. Of the five albums this time, four of Shostakovich's were released on SACD on the Exton label, but this is Prokofiev's first SACD. The Shostakovich recordings on DISC 1-4 are arranged in the order of recording, and the two Prokofiev pieces recorded in 1994, the first recording of this symphony collection, are placed on the last DISC 5. In addition, for this release, all works have been newly mastered. This is the sequel to "Orchestral Music Recording Collection" (OVEP00018) released on June 29th. The sound sources of Fedoseyev (1932.8.5-) include melodies from the 1970s, as well as Japanese Victor actively recording Russian music from the 1980s to the early 1990s, and many performances in Japan. (First visit to Japan was in 1975) Furthermore, from 1993, Mr. Ezaki began recording Canyon Classics, which included many Russian works, including re-recorded songs, and left behind the trajectory of Fedoseyev and the Moscow Radio Symphony Orchestra in each era. The recordings that will be reprinted this time are records from Fedoseyev's years between the ages of 61 and 64, a time when he was actively working as one of the masters of Russian music, both in name and reality. Furthermore, this period was a time of reorganization after the collapse of the Soviet Union, and it seems that there was great difficulty in maintaining the orchestra (details are given in the commentary by Mr. Sakairi), and the time was not suitable for the performance, including Fedoseyev's personality. seems to have had a big influence as well. Overcoming these challenges, he has been the music director of the Moscow Radio Symphony Orchestra since 1974 and has continued to do so since then, as well as recently releasing recordings.Even though he is over 90 years old, his range of activities has not diminished. That's amazing. Shostakovich's recordings, especially No. 5, are one of his favorite pieces and he has performed them many times, and there have been multiple recordings of this piece. He is one of the composers who can be said to be his life's work, as other songs not included here were later recorded live on the Relief label. The significance of recording Canyon Classics and Shostakovich together during this period may be that it is an expression of the circumstances in which they found themselves during this period, their hardships and acceptance, and it may also be due to the composer's increasing popularity. All of these performances are heavy and demanding, and it feels like their hearts are being poured out in their steady, steady steps. This is a unique interpretation of Shostakovich by a Russian performer, and it can be said to be an important recording in the sense that it was recorded all at once during this period. On the other hand, even in the "easy-to-understand" Nos. 1 and 5, Prokofiev seems to be paired with the same piece by Shostakovich, and it feels like he is deliberately trying to show similarities or, conversely, differences. This recording is noteworthy in that it shows the essence of the song beyond conventional interpretation, including the significance of recording it at the same time. Canyon Classics' recordings during this period included many orchestral pieces, including Shostakovich's symphonies. What's interesting is that there are many songs that overlap with the previous Victor edition, and although it was recorded over 10 years ago, there are considerable differences in the sound depending on the record company. Although the bass is the same and it was recorded in Moscow, the Victor version uses fewer microphones and emphasizes the overall sound, giving it a massive sound that feels like you're listening in a hall, whereas the Canyon Classics version emphasizes the tones of individual instruments. While emphasizing this, it is made with the aim of achieving clearer sound quality. Of course, there are major differences and advances in the digital equipment used when recording, but there also seem to be differences in how they perceive their music and how to convey it to listeners. In that sense, the Canyon Classics sound source this time can be said to be a sound source suitable for higher sound quality. The latest reprint of this original recording, which is audio-wise complete, allows you to appreciate Fedoseyev's music more deeply. This reprint is the latest reprint by Mr. Hirai of the current Octavia Records, who originally worked on these recordings during the Canyon Classics era, and Mr. Ezaki, who is credited as the recording director, so it fully retains the atmosphere of the time. High-quality sound and mastering were performed using the latest equipment and technology. This is an authentic reproduction with the most appropriate lineup. This commentary includes a new preface commentary in the preface, as well as explanations for each first appearance. It will be released in a limited edition of 700 sets with serial number and sticker. ContentsNumber of components | 5 pieces Edition | Remaster [Track list]1.
