VNTG MCM FRANCES HOLMES BOOTHBY MODERNIST STERLING SILVER BROOCH/PIN-SIGNED-RARE

Description: For sale we have this beautiful example of a vintage mid-century modern sterling silver brooch/pin designed by Frances Holmes Boothby. Frances Holmes Boothby has been recognized as an important jewelry designer in the American Modernist Jewelry Movement. "Silver Jewelry Designs" Nancy N. Schiffer as well as "Modernist Jewelry, 1930-1960, The Wearable Art Movement" by Marbeth Schon reference her work. This piece was made by Boothby herself and so this brooch/pin is stamped "STERLING"and is designer signed "fhb".We have left the piece with its beautiful aged patina and we have not polished the brooch/pin.There is no damage or repairs to the brooch; as with any antique piece of this age there may be surface scratches and some minor wear below the patina commensurate with age and usage.The lines remain crisp and it has its original clasp.The brooch measures approximately: 2" long (tip to tip) and 1" wide (at its widest point).Please review the photos carefully as these are part of the description.
