Description: Perfect Baking Guaranteed When Using Hunt's Perfect Baking Powder: One Hundred and Sixteen Practical and Economical Recipes. Tested on the Table and in the Kitchen. Copyright 1903 Published by The Hunt's Perfect Baking Powder Company Minneapolis Minnesota. Paper booklet measuring 7 x 4 inches and containing 40 pages. Recipes include Boston Brown Bread, Indian Bread, Hot Water Gingerbread, Rye Drop Cakes, Peach Fritters, Cream almond Cake, Raisin Mash Cake, Spice Cookies, Lemon sherbet with Egg...and many others. But what I found most interesting was a list on the inside front cover of institutions willing to let the public know they use Hunt's Baking Powder. These include Northern Pacific Ry, Great Northern Ry, Hotel Nicollet (Mpls), St. Louis Hotel (Duluth), Missoula Hotel (Montana), North Dakota University (Grand forks), Montana Penitentiary (Deer Lodge), The Hub Restaurant (Fargo) and many, many others. This was fascinating to me, since so many of these places in MN, ND, SD, MT, WA no longer exist. I'd recommend saving that page just for the nostalgic review of what cities and railroads and institutions and restaurants were popular in 1903. Subtle but Great advertising. I'll mail this delightful booklet to anywhere in the USA via first Class Mail for $1.50. Feel free to ask questions. If you have a minute, check out my other items--many collectibles, many dissimilar things--all reasonably priced. When possible I like to combine my items and try to save the buyer (you!) some money.
