Description: Vintage Late 1940s 1950s Shadow Checked Tweed Wool Overcoat Gray (size 40 Reg ) Art Deco MCM Rockabilly Retro Mad Men Up for sale is this classic gray wool tweed overcoat (40 Reg). It is made of soft mid-weight wool cloth in a shadow checked weave. It is cut in a 1940s / 1950s sack style with a four button closure, lightly padded shoulders, full lining, and a single rear vent. It has an extra button sewn on the inside of the coat. This may be vintage. but it is very sturdy and should stand lots of wear. The perfect coat for looking classy in cold weather. Condition: Excellent vintage condition. No holes, no stains, no wear. One minor mend on the front of the coat which is almost impossible to see except on close inspection - see photos. Only lightly used A well-preserved coat from the late 1940s or 1950s. Clean and sharp. From a smoke-free home. Maker: Unbranded Union made in U.S.A. (union label is 1949 -1961 series) The cut of this coat is one popular in the 1940s and 50s. Material: No markings, but looks and feels like wool. Marked: No markings. Measures to a 40 Reg.
