Description: This is a vintage 1979 greeting card with artwork by Mel Odom titled "Jennifer." Paper Moon Graphics. 4 1/2" x 6 3/4". Excellent condition. Unused. This is an original card - suitable for framing. It is not a newer reprint or a reproduction. His Art Deco-like style established him as a commercial artist, at first via erotic illustrations for sexually oriented magazines. During the 1980s, his work covered many commercial media. He created album covers for CBS Records and book covers for numerous other novels, usually in the genres of fantasy, mystery, or horror. He provided illustrations science/science-fiction magazines. Paper Moon Graphics was a Los Angeles-based greetings card and stationary company started in 1977. What set them apart from other companies was their creative use of several young airbrush artists who had made LA the center of a bright and breezy illustrative style. During the seventies and into the eighties their airbrush work was everywhere; you couldn't pick up a consumer magazine without seeing a Paper Moon airbrush illustration used for an editorial article. Acquired about 25 years ago from the estate of a big collector who traveled the world and had some very scarce paper items.
