Description: The item is sold as is, as found, and as you see it. The sale is for an unusual brass ish metal retractable/expandable with fancy details and women's heads. The item appears old and has an art nouveau style to it. Brass plated as a magnet sticks to it. The sides both can go up and down. Three rods in ceter of bookends that I assume books will lay on top of. The poses can expand to make longer to hold more books as needed. The brass ish metal has wear and darkened patches like the women's noses and hair on forehead. Other areas are tarnished, wear, dirt in crevices, surface agewear that goes with age. The backside of plates are plain; no decor in same condition idea as fronts. The metal rods have wear scratches, pitting, darnish, dark patches, etc... Inside rods is another silver metal covered rod within the rod that pulls out. Some tarnish on silver, darkening areas. The bottom of the end plates have red tape material; maybe to use as a shelf protector. Rough texture under shelf plates; made that way. Overall same condition as rest of item. Measures 13" when poles are not out. 12.75 when plates are down. 5.75, height when plates are up. 22.75" when stretched out to max. The right plate may have a small angle but not due to dmage. Everything works as it's supposed to.
