VTG. ESTATE FIND: Italy Ronzan Ceramic Boxer Puppy Hand-painted Signed Exc. Cond

Description: Up for sale is a beautiful vintage ceramic figurine of a Boxer puppy. Through careful comparison of this object with others available on the internet, this appears to be identical to a figurine originally designed in the 1930s in Lenzi, Italy by sculptor Giovanni Ronzan, and continued to be made in his shop in Bassano through the end of the 1950s. This rare figurine is hand-painted and signed and has a sleek glazed finish. It is signed by the artist, but unfortunately, the artist’s signature is difficult to read. It appears to be “C. Sefur”. Since later Ronzan pieces have a standard logo inked into the porcelain on the bottom, we believe this hand signed piece is an early one from that ceramics works. However, we encourage buyers to verify our research findings by comparing our photos with similar figurines or by seeking an expert opinion before purchasing. We are not professional appraisers, just talented amateurs offering our opinion. There are NO chips present on this piece; however, as shown in one photo you will see there is a small, almost unnoticeable, glaze fracture on its side. Under magnification, this appears to be an artifact of the kiln process and not actual damage. If you would like a clearer photo of this very minor defect before bidding, please let us know. Also please note that any white specks you may see in the photos are light reflections and not in the piece itself.
