Description: This particular house blessing/poem is often misidentified as an old Irish blessing - it was actually written by American Arthur Guiterman in NYC circa 1933. It first appeared as a hymn in 1935 (available on-line!). Judging by its condition, this particular colored lithograph is probably early, possibly 1940s. It was framed by the Fleck Bros. in NYC (in business for around 30 yrs, starting in the 1940s), as seen on the foil sticker on the back. The actual artist responsible for the image is unknown. The colors and detail are still vibrant, with no apparent fading from sunlight. The wood frame with a gold colored wash and carved edges measures 8 5/8" x 10 5/8" x 3/4". There are no scratches to the glass. No frame damage. But boy, the paper dust cover backing is a mess: it's torn and discolored (note, ZERO visible water damage to the print). Folding back the paper, cardboard backing holding the print flush with the glass is visible. You should consider removing the cardboard to better preserve the print.
