Description: Offered is a vintage Eli Lilly & Company 16 ounce (475 cc) empty tincture merthiolate 1:1000 amber brown glass bottle with paper label, from Indianapolis, IN U.S.A. This black Bakelite screw cap bottle was likely used to fill small bottles in a pharmacy, and is now empty save for some dried residue at bottom. Original glassine "wax paper" outer wrapper has largely protected the underlying label, but is itself torn and tearing on the side opposite the label (see photos). The foregoing details mean this bottle is offered here to responsible adults as-is, for display or collectible purposes only. The smudge or blotch on the label that shows at the point of the twig (see photo) may also appear on the underlying paper label, on only the glassine wrapper, or to some extent on both wrapper and label; seller cannot tell, and leaves the unwrapping of the bottle and the discovery to you.
