Description: A matching cup and saucer set from the legendary Arabia Ceramic Studio of Finland. The stamp on the bottom of the saucer is consistent with products made between 1949 and 1964. This Scandinavian-style set represents the HILPPA pattern adorned with stylized tulips on red panels. The cup and saucer together measure 2.5” tall and 5.25” wide. By modern standards, the cup looks small for coffee or tea but too large for demitasse—it’s somewhere in between. The cup measures 3.25” across the mouth. The set shows no obvious chips or cracks. However, looking closely, I see two very small discolorations along the rim that feel a little rough to the touch—I’ll call them flea bites. See all pics!! The underside of the saucer shows occasional small shallow patches that appear shy on glaze. They strike me as part of the manufacturing process. This is a HTF pattern. Very few for sale.
