Vtg Rare Etched Lion into Verdite Green Stone Signed Art by Hamilton Methule 90s

Description: Vtg Rare Etched Lion into Verdite Green Stone Signed Art by Hamilton Methule 90s Art depicts a lion in the wild (King of the Jungle) standing in what looks like a grassy & wooded area (Africa?). His mouth is open I do not know the history of this piece as it was received as part of an estate lot of lions /lion art. Piece is signed "H. (Hamilton) Methule" and looks like numbers 94 after signature. It looks to me like . is 74, but I believe Methule's work of wild animals on verdite was done during the 1990s from all accounts I can find. Measures approx 4" Wide , 3 1/4" Tall x 3/4" Deep at bottom. Piece appears to have beem dropped at some time, although most damage is on the back and bottom. A large piece of the stone chipped off the back and smaller chips in other places as deacribed below. Please see photos. Most of damage is on the back. The bottom right front corner is also missing a little chip, as well as bottom left front corner. Left side has a small nick. All of this is shown in photos. That said, the front art is fully I'm tact and in excellent condition. The top was left rough in the making process. Re stone: it seems Methule's works of this series were made on Verdite (from all previous listings I have found on Worthpoint or online). So, I have listed it as such. I've never seen verdite and am no stone expert. This is a stone with a green face . The back side where it has broken and is not polished looks quite different. However, when I looked up photos of unpolished verdite, they had beige and many colors in them. Whatever this stone is, it's what you are getting and it's gorgeous. It is very heavy. In areas where it is polished, it is very smooth..the kind of smooth makes you want to keep touching it. Please see all photos as they are part of the description.
