Description: Seller believes it was the decade of the 1940s that saw the manufacture of this vintage and rustic Robeson ShurEdge 8" carbon steel full tang kitchen knife with brass rivets, but his dating may be off by a decade or two. In either case, blade carries the distinctive gray look of carbon steel and a pebbled look along its top edge from its method of manufacture. Hardwood handle shows the larger than usual rivets. These knives were made for keeps, and here it is, still kicking! Handles are tight, unchipped and uncracked, and neither blade nor handle are in any way personalized. Blade is not rusted or bent, and its edge is good and sharp. Be advised that wood-handled carbon steel knives should be hand-washed and dried, meaning they should be kept out of the automatic dishwasher.
