Description: Gorgeous early 20th century vintage* Taxco Mexico panel link bracelet in 950 sterling silver and inlaid with crushed green stones inlaid into five sections. The design of this bracelet is somewhere between art deco and modernist. Judging by the hallmark, it was made prior to 1948 when the Mexican government began to require the eagle assay mark, a system which would remain in place until circa 1970 when it was replace with the current assay marking system of two letters followed by numbers. 950 sterling silver is the purest silver used in making fine jewelry. Compared with the usual 925 silver, 950 is lighter in color and tarnishes much less. I cannot quite make out the hallmark on this bracelet so I am unable to identify the artist. If anyone recognizes this hallmark please let me know ~ Length: 7-1/5" (18.3 cm)~ Width at widest point: 5/8" (1.6 cm)~ Weight: 12.1 g~ Marks: TAXCO 950 [cannot make out the rest] *Vintage and/or antique merchandise may have some degree of visible wear and/or patina.
