Description: A exceptionally well-preserved copy of Wargamer's Digest, Vol. 2 #8, June 1975. This is the issue containing the article (more a story) "Dungeon's & Dragon's -- The Magician's Ring," by D & D creator Gary Gygax. It is a short, prose storytelling of one of Gygax's own D & D adventures, and was part of his Greyhawk Castle fiction. In it he gives some details about the castle etc. Plot: Lessnard the Magician and three hirelings (a veteran fighter, an acolyte cleric, and a medium magic-user named Floppspel) explore the Greyhawk dungeons, fight wights and a giant scorpion. Floppspel finds a ring of invisibility on the scorpion's tail. As they escape, as they pass a pool filled with giant crocodiles via some boots of levitation, Lessnard is almost killed when Floppspel tries to obtain the ring from him, and the pair almost fall into the dangerous pool.
