This element far exceeds mic specs for optimum use with todays radio technology. I originally designed the application as a direct solder in replacement that brought Hi-Fi audio and new life to my old D-104 and I now have it for the MD-200 "B position" in a shock mount version. It's a 15 minute job to add in and it works great!! This is a wide range electret element that is powered by and works with Yaesu radios having the 8 pin mic connector that has voltage - 450, 817, 847, 857, 897, 920, 950, 2000, 2000D, 1000MP, 1000MP Mk V, Field, FTDX1200, FTDX3000, FTDX5000, FTDX9000... THIS WILL NOT WORK ON THE FT-757, 840, 990, FT1000 or FT1000D radios as there's no voltage on pin 2 of the radio mike connector.
