The items I will be selling from this point on are being sold from my estate and from the estates of friends and relatives. This Vintage Wahl Hurleman Twin Cylinder Model Airplane Engine belonged to a friend of mine who recently passed away. He collected vintage & modern model airplane engines as well as almost everything else. I will be selling items from his collection over the next several months. This Vintage .96 Cubic Inch Twin Cylinder Model Airplane Engine appears unused (never run) and is most probably one of the few assembled by Herb Wahl of Pennsylvania in the early 1970's from original Hurleman castings & parts (see photos). The spark plugs are marked with an "H" and the tank back has an apparent Hurleman tradmark (see photos). The mounting plate shows no mounting marks and is stamped with serial number 40 (see photos). The engine does not turn over & appears locked but may just need lubrication. The engine measures approximately 7.125 inches across from spark plug tip to spark plug tip (see photos). Hurleman started manufacturing his .48 cubic inch single cylinder series engines in 1938 and was subsequently experimenting with a .96 twin. This Twin Model Engine is a result of those experiments and is guaranteed to be as described. Great opportunity for the collector or enthusiast wanting an extremely hard to find Hurleman Twin.
